Medeama Sporting Club walked over Ghana Premier League debutants, Young Apostles at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday courtesy Derrick Fordjour and Prince Owusu’s goals in either half of the game in the Week 12 clash of the 2024/2025 Premier League.

The Mauve and Yellows, who were coming from a commanding victory over Bibiani Gold Stars lined up with Prince Owusu and Kamaradini Mamudu replacing Nana Kofi Babil and Ebenezer Nkrumah, compared to the previous starting line-up as follows: Adams Jabal(GK), Nurudeen Abdulai(CB), Emmanuel Cudjoe(CB), Kamaradini Mamudu(RB), Fatawu Suleman (LB) (C) MIDFIELD: Micahel Enu( DM), Manuel Mantey (CM), Prince Owusu (AM) FORWARDS: David Boison (RW), Michael Sarpong (ST), Derrick Fordjour ( LW).

Derrick Fordjour powered Medeama into the lead 8 minutes into the first half, following Michael Sarpong’s blocked shot from Michael Enu’s header, which located Fordjour in the opponent’s 18-yard box to slot home with his weaker left foot.

Both teams resulted to a high-tempo end-to-end action, with Young Apostles chasing after an equaliser but Medeama Sporting Club would not lay loose to their threats. Medeama could not also utilise their chances, keeping the scoreline at 1-0 in favour of the visitors at half-time.

The “Never Give Up” giants led by the Bosnian tactician, Nebosja Kapor cemented their lead on the 53rd minute (8 minutes into the second half), when Kamaradini’s throw to Michael Sarpong was controlled to locate Prince Owusu, who was perfectly position to send a long-range drive half-way into Young Apostles goal area to put Medeama 2-0 up.

David Boison Frimpong and Manuel Mantey gave way for Azaria Fordjour and winger, Kelvin Nkrumah to kill the game. Gborvoson and captain, Kofi Asmah also came on for Fatawu Sulemana and Nurudeen Abdulai but the game saw no more goals.

Attacking Midfielder, Prince Owusu was voted the NASCO Man of the Match.
