Medeama SC shot stopper, Appiah Kubi has described his new role as the club’s vice captain to Kofi Asmah an honour.
The former Ghana U20 national team goalie made this revelation during the club’s pre-match presser on Thursdays ahead of the teams visit to Accra to face Legon Cities this Saturday.
“For me, it is an honour to be the vice captain of the great club, and looking at the works of previous captains like Atinga, Kwesi Donsu and Baba (Musa Abdulai), I think is ahuge task and we are hoping that, as they have laid the foundation, we should be able to continue as they left it”, said the former Accra Lions goalie, Appiah Kubi.
The highly disciplined 23 year old Appiah Kubi joined Medeama Sporting Club from Accra Lions in August 2022 with some impressive display in between the sticks since being a Mauve and Yellow in spite of playing secondary to Felix Kyei. Appiah Kubi led the team as captain against Accra Lions with a clean sheet to his credit and three points to Medeama.
Kubi looks set to maintain the starting role against Legon Cities tomorrow at the University of Ghana Stadium.
