President and bankroller of Medeama Sporting Club, Mr Moses Armah, popularly known as Mospacka has today presented the club’s silver medal won for placing second in the just-ended 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League to the Acting Executive Vice President and Head of Goldfields West Africa, Mr Joshua Mortoti and the company’s Foundation Trustees.
Medeama Sporting Club has enjoyed a long-standing sponsorship partnership with Goldfields Ghana Limited, with the mining company committed to pumping over 150,000 dollars each year into the Tarkwa-based GPL club and also investing over millions of dollars into converting Tarkwa TNA Park into an ultramodern 12,000 all-seater capacity stadium for the Tarkwa community which will serve as the home grounds of the Mauve and Yellows when completed this year; among other community projects through the Goldfields Foundation.
In the company of Mospacka were the club’s captain and Administrator, Joseph Tetteh Zutah, and former CEO, James Essilfie who is now a member of the Medeama SC Board of Directors. During the presentation, Mr Moses Armah attributed the second spot finish to the financial support the team enjoyed from their headline sponsors, Goldfields Ghana Limited, and hoped for eternal marriage between both parties.
Mr Mortoti expressed his profound gratitude to the President and the team for their achievements and urged the team to fight for the ultimate GPL gold medal and trophy after the season’s historic finish; while echoing Goldfield’s commitments to supporting the club.
Medeama SC ended the 2021/2022 season second with 56 points to their credit and is expected to compete in the upcoming GHALCA Top 4/6 competition ahead of the 2022/2023 season which kicks off in September.
