Medeama Sporting Club fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Heart of Lions in a Ghana Premier League Week 22 outstanding clash at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Despite a determined effort, the Mauve and Yellow couldn’t overturn a 70th minute deficit, ending their two-game winning streak.

The match started with both teams holding firm, as Medeama’s defense stood solid in the opening 15 minutes. The Mauve and Yellows came into the picture with possessive displace and pressuring the host in the entire first half. The score remained goalless at halftime, with Medeama showing positive intents.

After the break, the tempo and pressing from both sides increased with Heart of Lions taking advantage in the 70th minute to take the lead. Medeama pushed for an equalizer, with Coach Tanko twerking his team tactically and personnel subbing in a bid to level matters. Despite late pressure, the Lions’ defense held firm, and the game ended 1-0.

The defeat drops Medeama to 6th in the GPL standings with 41 points. Medeama now turn their focus to their next fixture away to league leaders, Bibiani Gold Stars, determined to bounce back.
