Two teams with contrasting fortunes clash on Sunday when champions Medeama SC hosts basement club Real Tamale United  at the Akoon Community park on Sunday May 19, 2024.

The tie is delicately poised after both teams recorded wins from their respective matches last time out.

While Medeama compounded the woes of Great Olympics with a 1-0 win in the capital, Real Tamale United recorded a narrow 1-0 win over league leaders FC Samartex 1996.

The defending champions are the overwhelming favourites to secure victory but will be wary of the threat posed by the visitors.

RTU will not go down without a fight as they make the long journey to the mining town of Tarkwa to battle Medeama – who are also chasing a top-four finish with their title defence out of our hands.

Medeama SC have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 in their last 5 games. They are currently 5th on the table with 43 accumulated points after 29 matches.

Real Tamale United are the side with the least number of points accumulated away from home (3) following 1 win and 12 defeats, scored 11 and conceded a whopping 32 goals.

They are currently at the bottom of the table with 28 points from 28 matches, having won 2 and suffered 3 defeats in their last 5 games. They have one outstanding game to play against Dreams FC. Real Tamale United have conceded the most goals in the league so far (47).
