Medeama drew 2-2 at Heart of Lions- allowing the home side to come back twice in a disappointing end to the match in Hohoe.

In the game played at the Hohoe Sports Stadium, Medeama SC did enough in the first half and had a narrow lead thanks to a strike from Osah Bernardino Tetteh in the 34th minute.

After recess, an own goal by Ruben Hennessy in the 72nd minute saw the defending league champions take a two-goal lead.

While Heart of Lions looked set for a mauling, the team found strength in the last 10 minutes to get back into the game.

First, a penalty kick converted by Ebenezer Abban halved the deficit for the hosts before Ruben Hennessy also got his name on the scoresheet in the dying minutes of the game to force the match to end in a 2-2 draw.

Unfortunately, picking a point is not enough to take Heart of Lions out of the bottom of the league table.

Medeama SC on the other hand finished the first half of the league campaign 8th on the league log.
