Medeama SC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Richard Akrofi on a one-year deal.

Akrofi joins the Mauve and Yellow until July 2024 after completing formalities.

The experienced centre-back has put pen to paper after ending his stint at Nsoatreman FC.

Akrofi had previously featured for Hearts of Oak and King Faisal with Tarkwa becoming his latest home.

“We are happy to have concluded a deal with Richard and we look forward to an exciting working relationship. He is experienced and has the desire to play at the top level in Ghana and Africa. Richard Akrofi said: “I am very happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started. Medeama is a top club in Ghana. Winning the league last season was no fluke because they worked hard for it. I am also here to work hard and ensure we deliver success for our people.”

The defender featured prominently for Nsoatreman FC last season. 

He is expected to part of the team that will compete for honours in the upcoming season including Premier league title defence as well as compete in the FA Cup and the CAF Champions League.
