Medeama have crashed out of the MTN FA Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties to Karela United on Boxing Day.

The Mauve and Yellows came from behind to tie the score 1-1 before the game went into the shootout.

Charles Agyemang and Daniel Opoku missed their spot kicks to hand the qualification baton to the Aiyinase based side.

Kwasi Donsu, Vincent Atingah and Baba Musah Abdulai scored from the spot kicks.

Captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah pulled parity with a sublime free-kick but that was not enough as the home won in the lottery of the shootout.

The defeat means the two-time FA Cup winners have only the Ghana Premier League to compete for this season.

Medeama will shift attention to the Premier League on Sunday when we take on Accra Lions at the Akoon Community Park.
