Medeama SC travel to Aiyinase to battle neighbours Karela United on Wednesday on Match Day-9 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Mauve and Yellow go into the match on the back of ending a streak of poor results after recording a narrow 1-0 win over Kotoku Royals on November 20.
Assistant coach Umar Rabi, who took temporal charge of the team picked four points from two matches after sniffing a point at Bibiani Gold Stars in a 0-0 stalemate.
Rabi will be in the dugout again when he leads the team to Aiyinase for the massive showdown against the Pride and Passion.
It has not been an entirely convincing start by either of Western powerhouses, with the two teams pegged on 10 points each after eight round of matches.
After winning the first two matches, Medeama faltered to record Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars, Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko.
However, the team bounced back to draw 0-0 at Bibiani Gold Stars and a 1-0 success over Premier League new boys Kotoku Royals.
The two-time FA Cup winners will hope to immediately return to their free-flowing best on a consistent basis as they face off against their rivals in a cagey contest.
Given that Medeama will make another successive trip to face the same side in the FA Cup on Boxing Day, Wednesday’s fixture is extremely important for the Tarkwa-based side.
