Medeama trio Kwasi Donsu, Vincent Atingah and Benjamin Abaidoo are the three players who have earned nomination for the club’s Player of the Season, with the winner set to be announced during tonight’s gala in Tarkwa

Defender Vincent Atingah is hotly tipped to claim his first major award with the club since joining two seasons ago.

The former Hearts of Oak towering centre-back, who emerged the club’s  top scorer with seven goals last season, is in pole position to clinch the top individual award.

The former Hearts of Oak towering centre-back featured 30 times for the side – in a remarkable year which earned him a call-up into the Black Galaxies.

However, he will face stiff competition from stand-in captain Kwasi Donsu and left-back Benjamin Abaidoo.

Donsu, an iconic Ghanaian free-kick expert, clocked 32 appearances for the Mauve and Yellows, scoring two goals and providing six assists in a memorable season for the experienced midfielder.

The former Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC loanee could win the award and acknowledge what has undoubtedly been one of the Ghanaian’s best campaign as a Medeama player to date.

Left-back Benjamin Abaidoo, who joined the side from Berekum Chelsea, enjoyed a fabolous run of form to emerge as one of the fans’ favourite at the Akoon Community Park.

He clocked 30 appearances as the Mauve and Yellows clinched a deserved second position.

The second edition of the Medeama Awards will take place at the famous Luxury Touch Hotel in Tarkwa on Friday September 16, 2022.

The Award scheme is aimed at honouring outstanding players and officials of the club in the year under review.
