Medeama SC’s match day 22 clash with Kumasi King Faisal at the Akoon Community Park was today, Wednesday called off due to heavy downpour and is set to be replayed in the early hours of tomorrow, Thursday at the same venue.

The match which was 24 minutes old had to be called of when 4th referee Julian Nunoo signaled the center referee, Mohammed Misbaou to temporarily halt the game due to poor visibility and interruptions in the movements of the ball as a result of the rains which started few minutes before kick off.

Referee Misbaou was left with no option than to match the players to their dressing rooms in anticipation for the rains to stop and the water on the pitch to drain until 4pm.

Upon several minutes of waiting, the rain would not stop even after an hour and numerous testing of the bouncing of the ball and movements on the waterlogged pitch didn’t merit association football; hence the decision of the match officials to shift the match to the next day.

Tarkwa Akoon Park before today had witnessed two rained of matches, with one going in favour of the Yellow and Mauves against Karela United on match day 4, where Medeama won by 2:0 and the other going against the Tarkwa side in match day 17, where Medeama lost by 1:0 to Dreams FC.

The Medeama vs King Faisal kicks off at 10:00am tomorrow.
