Coach Ibrahim Tanko has named his starting XI to face Nations FC in Friday’s Week 21 Ghana Premier League fixture, with Osei Yaw handed the responsibility of filling the right-back role following the departure of Kamaradini Mamudu to Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman.
The Mauve and Yellows make the trip to the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex sitting comfortably at the summit of the league, and the spotlight will naturally fall on Osei Yaw, who is trusted to step into the boots left behind by one of the league’s most attacking full-backs.
Yaw, who is a graduate from Sekondi Rospak SC has shown versatility and discipline whenever called upon, gets the vote of confidence from Coach Tanko as Medeama look to maintain balance at the back while sustaining their attacking intent. His selection underlines the club’s belief in squad depth and internal solutions following Kamaradini’s exit.
On the bench, Ebenezer Nkrumah, who is included as cover, ready to deputise if called upon, highlighting Medeama’s blend of experience and emerging talent.
The rest of the lineup remains solid and familiar, anchored by Felix Kyei in goal and captained by Mubarik Yussif, with key figures such as Salim Adams, Fuzy Taylor, Derrick Fordjour and Kingsley Braye tasked with driving the team’s title charge.
As Medeama chase another positive result away from home, all eyes will be on Osei Yaw to see how he rises to the challenge and stamps his authority in a position that has recently delivered goals, energy and excitement for the Mauve and Yellows.
