Aduana Stars kick started the game as Referee Franklin Akumatey whistled to begin the last match of the week 27 GPL fixture since Medeama won the toss.

Aduana Stars pressed unsettled Medeama harder in their own half and were rewarded with one of the fastest goal this season, 1 minute 43 seconds through Bright Adjei, who chanced on a header from Yahaya Mohammed to punish flatfooted and ball watching Medeama SC defense.

Medeama SC put their pieces together to bring themselves back into the game, not withstanding the intense pressure from the home side.

Ansu Kofi Patrick and Ato Mensah all came close to scoring in the 18th and 26th minutes but were all lacking power and direction with their final deliveries.

Aduana Stars also had their own issues wasting chances after chances in their quest to consolidate their lead but Medeama SC defender and goalkeeper rose to every single occasions when it mattered most.

Aduana Stars were forced into an early substitution when their assist provider, Yahaya Mohammed could not return to action following an ankle injury in the 30th minute of play.

Medeama had a break away in the 32nd minute but Kwesi Donsu was brought down on few yards from the edge of Aduana’s 18yard box and was awarded a free kick, which left back Sulemana Fatawu converted expertly direct to goal to cancel the home lead.

The tempo of the game heightened with Aduana Stars doing most of the questionings but Medeama’s defense led by evergreen Vincent Atinga would not allow another goal enter their net especially in the 43rd minute when Atinga had to clear a ball on his goal line after Sam Adams had completely beaten goalie, John Moosie.

Aduana Stars threw in another fresh blood with Kingsley Brefo replacing former Medeama SC mindfielder, Eric Kwakwa to try to take over the midfield which was being bossed by Medeama’s quartet especially Donsu and Prosper Owusu.

Coach Umar made a double substitution in the 59th minute by introducing Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah and Theophilus Anoba for Ato Mensah and Agyei Boakye respectively.

The urgency and tempo of the game gradually was lowered as both teams looked tired of continuous failure to break open each other’s defense.

Ivorian midfielder, Jean Vital came on for Rashid Nortey, right back Samuel Frimpong was brought on for goal scoring Fatawu Sulemana, who was over worked by speedster, Emmanuel Gyamfi, as Kwesi Donsu made way for captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah.

Both sides had brilliant chances in the last part of the game but non resulted in goal even after 5 extra minutes of injury time.

Referee Franklin Akumatey whistled to end the game at 1-1 score line.
