Medeama Sporting Club and Kofi Asmah Mutually Agree to Part Ways

Medeama Sporting Club can confirm that the club and Kofi Asmah have mutually agreed to bring their long-standing relationship to an end following a successful five-year spell with the Mauve and Yellow family.

Kofi joined Medeama as a teenager and grew through the ranks to become one of the club’s most respected figures, eventually earning the honour of captaining the side. During his time in Tarkwa, the dependable centre-back played an important role in some of the most memorable moments in the club’s history.

He was part of the Medeama team that won two Ghana Premier League titles and featured prominently during the club’s historic CAF Champions League group stage campaign. His consistency, discipline and professionalism made him a valued member of the squad both on and off the pitch.

Beyond club football, Kofi’s impressive performances earned him a place in Coach Karim Zito’s Ghana U-20 national team setup, further highlighting his quality and potential.

However, injuries and increased competition for places limited his playing opportunities in the last two seasons. Despite the challenges, Kofi remained a committed professional and continued to demonstrate the character and values that have defined his time with the club.
