Medeama SC Completes Signing of Sudan International Goalkeeper Monged Abuzaid Salman

Ghana Premier League champions Medeama Sporting Club are delighted to announce the signing of Sudanese international goalkeeper Monged Abuzaid Salman on a two-year contract as preparations gather pace for the 2026/27 football season.

The 30-year-old joins the Mauve and Yellows from Sudanese side El Merrikh Bentiu, bringing with him a wealth of experience at both club and international levels as Medeama continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the defence of their Ghana Premier League crown and their return to the CAF Champions League.

Standing at an imposing 1.93 metres, Monged has built a reputation as one of Sudan’s finest goalkeepers, earning plaudits for his commanding presence, exceptional shot-stopping ability and leadership qualities between the posts.

The experienced shot-stopper has represented Sudan on the international stage and enjoyed successful spells with Sudanese clubs, including Al-Merrikh, where he won domestic honours and featured prominently in continental competitions.

Over the course of his career, Monged has amassed 18 appearances across the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup while representing both El Merrikh Bentiu and Al-Merrikh SC, further underlining the pedigree and experience he brings to Tarkwa.

His arrival reflects Medeama Sporting Club’s ambition to assemble a formidable squad capable of competing on multiple fronts following the club’s historic 2025/26 Ghana Premier League triumph.

Speaking after completing his move to Tarkwa, the Sudan international expressed his excitement at joining the Ghanaian champions.

Monged Abuzaid Salman is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately as Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side intensifies preparations for the upcoming campaign, which includes the defence of the Ghana Premier League title and Ghana’s representation in continental football.
