Kelvin Nkrumah Hat-Trick Sends Medeama Into MTN FA Cup Semi-Finals

Youngster Kelvin Nkrumah delivered a stunning extra-time hat-trick to propel Medeama Sporting Club into the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup following a 3–0 victory over Attram DeVisser Soccer Academy at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The quarter-final encounter initially looked destined for a penalty shootout after 90 minutes ended goalless, despite Medeama dominating proceedings and creating several glorious chances. Attram DeVisser’s goalkeeper produced a series of excellent saves to frustrate the Mauve and Yellows throughout regulation time.

However, the deadlock was finally broken in the second half of extra time when Kelvin Nkrumah capitalised on defensive hesitation inside the box. The Attram DeVisser defence failed to properly clear Fatawu Sulemana’s cross, allowing the striker to blast home his first goal of the season and give Medeama a crucial lead.

With the stadium roaring behind Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s men, the Mauve and Yellows gained momentum. Moments later, Derrick Fordjour surged forward on a blistering run before delivering a defence-splitting pass that located Nkrumah, who calmly fired home his second of the night.

The drama was not over yet. With the home side now firmly in control, Medeama won a penalty after Abdul Salam was impeded inside the box, prompting referee Selorm Yao Bless to point to the spot.

Kelvin Nkrumah stepped up confidently and converted the penalty, sealing his hat-trick and completing a remarkable turnaround performance that sent the Cape Coast Stadium into wild celebrations.

The emphatic victory secures Medeama a semi-final clash against Dreams FC, who earlier eliminated Heart of Lions via penalty shootout.

After a difficult run in recent matches, the Mauve and Yellows delivered a statement response, ending their winless streak with three goals and a clean sheet.
