Medeama Sporting Club goalkeeper Felix Kyei has publicly taken responsibility following the club’s 2–1 home defeat to Hohoe United at the TnA Stadium in Week 25 of the Ghana Premier League.

The result proved a painful one for the Mauve and Yellows, who were hoping to return to winning ways in front of their home supporters. Instead, Medeama were undone by an unfortunate own goal and a goalkeeping error that ultimately gifted the decisive goal to the visitors.

The match also saw Kyei miss a crucial penalty that could have given Medeama the lead before Hohoe United struck their winning goal — a moment that added to the disappointment of the day.

In the aftermath of the game, the Medeama shot-stopper issued a heartfelt apology to the entire Medeama family, including his teammates, the technical team, management, the board, club president, and the supporters who filled the stadium and those who followed the match from afar.

Kyei acknowledged the pain of the result and accepted full responsibility for his part in the outcome.

“I want to sincerely apologize to all our fans for yesterday’s result. As a player, it hurts deeply not to deliver, especially in a game we should have won. Your support means everything, I take full responsibility and promise to work harder, sharper, and come back stronger. Thank you to the lovely family of Medeama.”

Despite the setback, Medeama remain firmly in the title race, and the team will now shift focus toward regrouping and responding strongly in the upcoming fixtures as the Ghana Premier League season enters its decisive phase.

For Kyei, the message was clear — a commitment to rise again, improve, and repay the unwavering faith of the Mauve and Yellow faithful.
