Medeama Sporting Club head into Matchday 20 of the Ghana Premier League with renewed focus and determination as head coach Ibrahim Tanko names his squad to face Karela United at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.
Boosting the Mauve and Yellows’ options is the return of Jacob Amu Mensah, who makes the matchday squad after recovering from the injury that forced him off during our MTN FA Cup victory over Bibiani Gold Stars earlier this month. The centre-back begins the encounter from the bench, providing timely reinforcement as we continue our push at the summit of the league.
League leaders Medeama are firmly on a revenge mission, with Karela United standing as the only side to have defeated us this season — a narrow 1-0 loss away in Matchday 3. Since then, the champions of 2022/23 have gone 18 matches unbeaten in all competitions, establishing themselves as the pace-setters in the title race.
Coach Tanko has named a strong starting XI led by captain Mubarik Yussif, with goalkeeper Felix Kyei continuing between the posts after keeping nine clean sheets so far this campaign.
Key figures such as Salim Adams, Fuzy Taylor and Manuel Mantey also feature as we aim to assert our dominance at home in the heart of midfield and tighten our grip on top spot with Medeama's MR TEE Shoe and Unisex Boutique Player of December 2025, Kingsley Braye being flanked up front by Kelvin Nkrumah and Derrick Fordjour.
Yussif Mubarik will be partnered by Rich Sackey at the central defense, while having Kamaradini Mamudu and Fatawu Sulemana as laterals.
With a packed TnA Stadium expected, the Mauve and Yellows are primed to deliver a statement performance as we chase maximum points and keep the dream of a second Ghana Premier League title firmly alive.
We are Medeama. Never Give Up.
