Medeama Sporting Club produced a commanding display at the TnA Stadium to defeat Young Apostles FC 3–0, extending their lead at the summit of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League and underlining their status as the team to beat.

The emphatic victory lifts Medeama to 37 points, opening a five-point gap over closest challengers Aduana FC and Bibiani Gold Stars, who both trail on 32 points.

First-Half Control and Clinical Finishing

Medeama settled quickly into the contest, dominating possession and creating early openings as the visitors struggled to cope with the intensity.

The breakthrough arrived in the 21st minute, when Fuzy Taylor delivered a wicked set-piece that deflected off the Young Apostles wall, wrong-footing goalkeeper Zulka Masawudu and nestling into the net to give the Mauve and Yellows a deserved lead.

The pressure continued unabated, and it paid off again in the 34th minute. From another Taylor corner, right-back Kamaradini Mamudu timed his run perfectly to power home a header, doubling Medeama’s advantage and sending the home fans into celebration.

Discipline, Depth and a Finishing Touch

Medeama returned for the second half with the same focus, maintaining a solid defensive line while probing for a third goal. When called upon, goalkeeper Felix Kyei was assured, dealing confidently with the few moments of threat posed by the visitors.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko rotated his squad in the 61st minute, introducing Prince Owusu, Osei Yaw and Abdul Salam to inject fresh energy, before Richard Appiah replaced Kingsley Braye later in the half.

The substitutions paid dividends in the 84th minute, as Prince Owusu capped a fine team performance by converting from a set-piece to seal the result and put the game beyond doubt.

Squad Depth on Display

The match also saw Rich Sackey step in at centre-back, replacing Amu Mensah Jacob, who was sidelined through injury sustained in midweek FA Cup action. Sackey’s inclusion, alongside the return of Kofi Asmah to the matchday squad, further highlighted the depth and resilience within the Medeama setup.

What It Means

The comprehensive win not only marks a perfect start to the second round, but also strengthens Medeama’s grip on top spot as the league campaign gathers momentum.

Next up, the Mauve and Yellows turn their attention to an away fixture against Vision FC, aiming to extend an already impressive run and keep the pressure firmly on their title rivals.
