Kingsley Braye delivered a scintillating performance at the TnA Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, firing a superb hat-trick to propel Medeama Sporting Club into the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup with a deserved 3–1 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko named a strong side for the Round of 32 contest, led by captain Mubarik Yussif, with Felix Kyei between the posts and attacking intent spearheaded by Kingsley Braye, Derrick Fordjour and Richard Appiah.  Controlling affairs in the midfield were Manuel Mantey, Salim Adams, and Fuzy Taylor.

First Half Dominance

Despite the early showers of the rains, which had the tendencies to affect beauty of the game, Medeama settled quickly and dictated the tempo from the opening exchanges, probing the visitors with controlled build-up play and sharp movement in the final third.

The breakthrough arrived in the 29th minute, when Kingsley Braye capped off a flowing team move to put the Mauve and Yellows in front. Braye doubled our advantage in the 44th minute, showing composure and clinical finishing to send Medeama into the break with a commanding 2–0 lead.

Gold Stars Fight Back

Bibiani Gold Stars returned from the interval with renewed urgency and reduced the deficit in the 61st minute, setting up a tense spell as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.

Coach Tanko responded decisively, introducing Godknows Dzakpasu and Prince Owusu in the 68th minute for Fuzy Taylor and Salim Adams, a tactical switch aimed at restoring midfield control and fresh energy.

Braye Seals It

As Gold Stars chased the game, Medeama remained disciplined and dangerous on the breaks. The decisive moment arrived in the 88th minute, when Kingsley Braye completed his hat-trick, calmly finishing to extinguish the visitors’ hopes and ignite celebrations inside the TnA Stadium.

Marching On

The final whistle confirmed a 3–1 victory and safe passage into the Round of 16, with Medeama continuing our strong momentum across competitions.

Our next opponent in the MTN FA Cup will be known after the upcoming draw, but one thing is certain — the Mauve and Yellows march on with confidence, character and firepower.
