Head Coach Ibrahim Tanko has praised the collective effort and discipline of his players following Medeama Sporting Club’s hard-earned 1–0 victory over Heart of Lions in their Matchday 16 Ghana Premier League clash.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s communications team after the encounter, Coach Tanko attributed the important away win to teamwork, belief, and tactical discipline, stressing that Medeama can compete anywhere when they play as a unit.

“I think we play as a team and I always say when we play as a team, we can face any team whether home or away,” Tanko said.

“The boys did very well and they were very disciplined on the day. We created our chances but unfortunately Kingsley didn’t get his second goal, however, in all, the three points were much more important to us.”

The victory at Kpando not only restored confidence after last weekend’s home draw but also propelled the Mauve and Yellows level on points with league leaders Asante Kotoko, who currently hold a superior goal difference.

Eyes on the Summit

With momentum firmly back on their side, Medeama now turn attention to their outstanding Matchday 14 fixture away to Bibiani Gold Stars, scheduled for Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Bibiani Dun’s Park.

The rescheduled encounter presents a golden opportunity for Coach Tanko and his charges to separate themselves from Kotoko and claim outright leadership of the Ghana Premier League table as the season reaches a crucial phase.

As the title race intensifies, Medeama’s recent performances — built on unity, discipline, and resilience — continue to underline their ambition and readiness to compete at the very top.
