Medeama SC Strengthen Technical Team with arrival of Coach Nana Yaw Amankwah

Ghana Premier League champions Medeama Sporting Club are pleased to announce that experienced coach Nana Yaw Amankwah has joined; the club's technical team ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The CAF "License A" holder joins the Mauve and Yellows as the club continues to reinforce every department in preparation for the defence of its Ghana Premier League title and its return to the CAF Champions League.

Coach Amankwah is no stranger to the Medeama family, having previously served as assistant coach during the club's memorable 2023/24 campaign that culminated in qualification to the group stage of the CAF Champions League under Coach Augustine Evans Adotey.

He returns to Tarkwa after a successful spell with Bibiani Gold Stars FC, where he served as assistant coach before taking on the role of interim head coach. He also brings valuable experience from his time with Accra Hearts of Oak SC, further enriching Medeama's technical setup.

His addition reflects the club's unwavering commitment to continuously strengthening its technical structure as it prepares for the demands of competing on multiple fronts this season.

Working alongside Head Coach Ibrahim Tanko, Assistant Coach Stephen Gurah, and Goalkeepers' Coach Isaac Amoako, Coach Amankwah is expected to contribute his tactical expertise, continental experience, and wealth of knowledge to further enhance the team's competitiveness.

Chief Executive Officer James Essilfie welcomed the appointment, describing it as another important step in Medeama's pursuit of sustained success.

Coach Amankwah also expressed his delight at returning to Tarkwa.

Coach Tanko, his assistants and Nana Yaw Amankwah have an immediate task to qualify Medeama to the group phase, before thinking of progressing to the next round. The club hierarchy has also set sight on winning a domestic double.
